The Brow Studio experience

A couple of days more and it's the most wonderful time of the year, Christmas! Ahhh I can almost feel it! :) especially being in the midst of a hustle-bustle scenario of people shopping in every mall, the jampacked grocery stores, and long queues in salons and spas. Ahuh!, well not only do we want to have a new set of wardrobe for upcoming Christmas parties & the noche buena, most (the La Femme community) want to look at their best too. And since it's only a tic toc away from TWO-O-O-FOURTEEN, we really gotta look our best, or like others would say, get a "new look". But to me, I only need a little bit of grooming plus a new shape.... for my brows. (Wow the intro, haha! result of MIA weeks, bumabawi lol)

I prefer eyebrow threading ever since I was in College, I was able to overcome the "tiis-ganda" session so I got used to the usual sting of it. But it was months til I got my brows threaded again so I'm kinda anxious to feel the pain I felt on my first time. Nevertheless I gotta do it! Here's why
doesn't look like a vain girl's right? haha

I was supposed to go to Lay Bare but I was number 20 on the list. Since I'm with baby diva I can't wait that long so we went to The Brow Studio (located at 5th Floor of The Block SM City North Edsa) instead. And I was happy that we did!

There was no queue, as soon as we got there I was the next one. I like the ambience as well very comforting, and the staff were welcoming. I chose Brow Clean-Up Express (Combination of threading and tweezing to clean the existing eyebrow shape) which only costs  Php 188. Here are their other services and price list:

The one who did my brows had very gentle hands, it wasn't that painful at all. The entire clean-up took for like 15 minutes only. So if you happen to go there, look for Ate Hope. She's so nice that she even allowed Kena to stay with me in the cubicle (that's coz she was having her tantrums). I like how she cleaned and re-shaped each of my brows to much defined ones. Look at my before and after photos:
Nice right? Would love to come back here as a regular customer!

Welcome to the Christian World k!

Busy month's over. Done with another life event, Kena Adryanne's Christening (held October 27, 2013). That explains my MIA weeks (which seem to be years). And now I'm baaaack and can't wait to blog! I wanna share how we've prepared everything, but believe it or not, despite the preparation everything seems quite a rush!

I can hardly imagine how the day's gonna be like the night before baby diva's Christening. Will everything turn out well? Will everything be like what I've expected? I was so stoked since it's my daughter's big day, she will be welcomed to the Christian world! And when the day came, the laid back caterpillars turned into busy bees. We were hustle bustling, updating the balloons, buffet, cake, etc. Boy i can't even explain the tangled appointments on that day. That's why we are so grateful to our families and friends who helped us set-up everything.

Invitations (c) Mamee Rooh Corpuz (you can send her a pm on facebook)

Kena was baptized by Msgr. Alfonso Lacsamana (who happened to be my Godfather and the one who baptized me too... how time flies hehehe)

These are Kena's cool Godfathers, most of them came all the way from Manila. Where are the Godmothers? well...

This lady right here came all the way from Baguio, who did the unthinkable, rode on a mini bus which is unfortunately running like a decade old transpo. Haha. My sister from another mother Viviene was running late so my other bestfriends who happened to be the godmothers too picked her up... that explains why they were missing at the church.

We also celebrated Mamu Judy's birthday that day which is really on the day after (October 28), without her, we couldn't put up one heck of a venue for Kena's Christening. Love you Mamu! Thank you!

Here are other snapshots from Green Icon Photobooth...

Threebies, No Way

Wow, I have been MIA for weeks. Well, first KNk caught a flu and it was baby diva who got sick for almost 2 weeks huhu, but we are all well now thanks to God. Second, we are busy preparing for Kena's Christening on the 27th, so I don't really have that much time to blog or take outfit shots. But I'm back, sadly, this isn't a happy blog, here's why...

Everyone has probably heard or seen Forever21ph's Photo Contest: Threebies, My Way. The moment I learned about it I immediately went to their site, read the mechanics and rushed to my closet to look for my favorite F21 piece. I was so eager to join the contest for this could be a once in a lifetime chance to be featured in Meg magazine with my favorite blogger Camille Co. I also shopped for new accessories that would go with the looks I'll be creating, BUT... to my dismay, my entry was never posted for an unknown reason. I submitted mine on October 3 but never have I seen it on their site. I'm pretty sure I followed all the rules, checked the sizeof my photo, checked my caption, checked on my outfit, if it is decent which I know is very decent, still it wasn't posted after 6 attempts of submitting. I was so disappointed and frustrated coz i could probably make the cut but I never had the chance. :( If only they gave notifications on why it can't be posted if there was really a break in the rules but I was left clueless. Today is the deadline of submission :( Sigh! Nevertheless, I'll just be posting the looks I've created.

My Forever 21 key piece is a sheer horse-printed Mustard long sleeves.
I chose this because I wanted to show that there's more to fashion with a year old top and how I transformed it to every season's trend. I also styled it the way it reflects my lifestyle.

First Look: The Boss

For my first look, I opted to bring out the professional in me by just keeping the way it really is, tucked in a skort of a contrasting color to make my look more edgy. Completed the look with black peep-toe heels and clutch bag which makes my whole ensemble classy.

Clutch: Betsey Johnson | Skort: thefashonline (IG) | Heels: Payless

Second Look: Night Out

For the second look, let's blot out the conservative facade of long sleeves. It's time for a night out! I went for what's in, crop top. Also, To give room for my F21 wooden bangle, I simply rolled my sleeves up, then just let the blings (F21 rings) do their thing.

Watch: Casio | Liquid leggings: Redhead | Lita boots: thegurlyshop_ (IG)

Third Look: Leisure Fun

For my 3rd look... surprised? Who says you can't cut the sleeves without damaging it? It's time to bring out your inner fashion goddess and do the trick. For a fresh and on-the-go look, I experimented with the sleeves and Voila! I came up with a flowy Halter top, now I can go for shopping and milk tea!

Scallop shorts: Three Wishes | Bag: Egg | Wedge: Shoo-in

For the three looks I also used the same Forever 21 gold dangling earrings and cross ring which suit any style, from formal to casual. So that's supposed to be my entry, so much for trying but better luck next time for me.

Marilyn

Totally candid but oh well... I'm posting it xp

Who doesn't love Marilyn Monroe? Well I do! I love her and Audrey Hepburn a lot! As soon as I saw this Bangkok skirt on my supplier, I didn't hesitate to own it. Supposedly I have two MM skirts but I convinced myself to sell the other one on TFO, otherwise I won't make any profit lol. I have so much love for her that I had to have the same sunnies on. Feeling her vibe, I paired my MM skirt with a midriff and completed the look with black peep-toe heels. I think of her and I see Posh and Classy, hope this look gave justice! What do you think? :)

Now You See Me, Now You Don't

Yesterday (Sept. 8, 2013) KNk had a family day out, pre-celebration of baby diva's 5th month which is today by the way. It was a gloomy and rainy Sunday but that didn't stop us three from wearing Summery outfits haha, yes all three of us were wearing tank tops (We Go Out As A Team, remember?:) ). Here's what I wore

I was too lazy to put on my contacts so I decided to be a fab four-eyed person.

Top: H&M | Shorts: Three Wishes | Sunnies: Ray-ban | Eyeglasses (frame): fabkikay (IG) | Clutch bag & beaded bracelet: The Belle Soeurs | Watch: Juicy Couture | Flats: FitFlop

The title of this post is inspired by the coolest heist film I've ever seen so far, NOW YOU SEE ME, not only is it star-studded, but the story and visual effects were just superb! I swear you should see this!! MUST-WATCH!!! If you loved Ocean's 11 to 13, you'll love this movie more!!! and... Dave Franco, oh my! I just love his appeal! haha

Okay now back to blogging about our day out, I was just a total fan of the movie that I really have to say my praises :) We had lunch at Kev & I's favorite buffet resto, Yakimix Trinoma. I was really craving for sushi that day! Here's what we had

I gotta learn how to make the food on my plate more presentable ei?

I definitely loved the Fat beef Korean Style and the Kimchi Turnip (i'm not really sure, sorry)

Well I haven't taken photos of all the food we ate, you might be surprised teehee. I love going out with my family, always a happy and great day!

I know, I know, we are Red-Black-White-themed again. I told you these are our fave colors :) Colors of KNk.

Eldest of 8

I had one important errand for the day, and that is to get the report cards of my four siblings. My Dad and Stepmom are too busy so as the eldest I presented myself to take charge (in that way I'd also know how my brothers & sisters really are in school.) Here's what I wore to the Meet & Greet with their Teachers.

Dress: frenchkissedlippies (IG) | Bag: Long Champ | Watch: Casio | Necklace & Flats: CLN

So I was really jolly on my way to Hope Christian Academy. I have faith on my sibs, I know they got high, if not, fair grades. And the thought of just getting the cards, thus a quick errand made me at ease for I don't really wanna take that long since I'll be leaving baby diva behind. BUT, upon getting the last report card which is AJ's (my 1st grade brother), it took me an hour to wait T_T His adviser was having a one-on-one conversation with the parents, giving them feedbacks. It took her at least 20 minutes per parent, oh boy! and the Worst part is, I was the last on the list.

Here I am getting a little impatient (Fact: I hate waiting.)
Nevertheless, what I've sensed while I'm on my way was right! Their grades were worth the wait, and one of my siblings got in the Top 10 achievers list.

Proud Ate here :)
